The Company supports apprenticeships and training, usually in association with specialist teaching organisations. Examples include:
- The Arkwright Engineering Scholarship for 15/16 year old technology students to study engineering, with mentoring support
- Grants to City and Guilds trainees
- Awards to junior doctors to support further learning through the Royal College of Surgeons
- Supporting a former military service person to learn new skills through Help For Heroes
- A young apprentice with William Smith, who have made needles and pins at their Neptune Works since 1835 and who are well known for sail-making products
- Support for an apprentice at Entaco, a company still making needles in the UK
- Grants to numerous schools, including equipment at Treloar's School for disabled children and young adults
