Woodwind Competition 2024

Friday 26 April 2024

2024 winner Thais Bordes with Master Needlemaker and Adjudicator Julietter Bausor

On 27th March Needlemakers and their friends gathered at Guildhall School of Music and Drama for the annual Woodwind Competition. The four finalists entertained us with a diverse programme and the adjudicator Juliette Bausor had a difficult decision eventually selecting bassoon player Thais Bordes as the winner. Whist she was deliberating we were entertained by Alex Ho, winner in 2023 who played: Claude Bolling Suite for flute and jazz trio II. Sentimentale

Fellowship is an important element of the livery and so Needlemakers were joined by finalists and representatives from GSMD at Cote Brasserie for an informal supper after the competition.
