Royal School of Needlework Prize Giving
Monday 6 June 2022
Master Needlemaker attended the annual prize-giving at the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court on 30th May. Not even the heavy rain could dampen the enthusiasm of all the students and their parents who were able to attend the first such live event in three years. The quality of the work was, as ever, quite stunning, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of different types of stitch, materials and colour. Everyone should be applauded for such talented work, especially as the last few years have been so disruptive to study and to face-to-face meetings. The Chief Executive of the RSN, Dr Susan Kay Williams, gave a wide-ranging introductory speech to welcome and to applaud the students and especially the prize winners. The winner of the Needlemakers Prize was sadly not present but we hope to see her at our Awards Dinner in July.
