Needlemakers' Whisky Tasting - 26 August 2015

Saturday 29 August 2015

The Master and the Development Committee organised an outing to the Scotch Malt Whisky Society's London Members' Rooms in Hatton Garden and 13 (lucky for some!) Needlemakers and guests tasted four drams, expertly guided by one of the Society's Ambassadors, and enjoyed a charcuterie supper.

We tasted whiskies from highland and lowland, from ex-bourbon and ex-sherry barrels, aged from 13 to 25 years and cask strength from 56 to 58% alcohol. All were very different and it was fascinating to taste them and to learn about the very different techniques and processes involved in the modern day manufacture of whisky. Cheers!
